Beach Lake XC

Saturday, July 30, 10am

THIS IS A BRAND NEW RACE AT
A BRAND NEW VENUE ON AWESOME TRAILS!!!

COME JOIN US!

Registration will be 9-9:45am at the Chugiak High School parking lot (north side of the school).
Pre-race meeting will be around 9:50am.
Race will start at 10am.

Experts 4 laps, Masters & Sport 3 laps, Beginners & Juniors 2 laps.
1 lap will be approximately 4.3 miles with 12% singletrack (the legend on the map is not quite accurate).

It's looking like the weather is going to be just awesome tomorrow morning, so the BBQ is on! We'll provide everything... snausages, beverages, buns, condiments, chips, cookies, etc... if you have something veggie/vegan you'd like to throw on the barbie, feel free to bring it!

ALL proceeds of this race will be going to the Single Track Advocates and their awesome (and VERY exciting) Kincaid Single Track Project. Check it out! Race is $15, but if you can donate more that would be KARMICALLY wonderful.

Driving directions:
From Anchorage, head out towards the valley on the Glenn HWY. Go past Eagle River and take the SOUTH Birchwood Exit. Take a left under the highway (you'll see the HS right away) and take a right into the parking lot (registration will be to the left or north when you pull into the parking lot).

Kincaid XC #4 Results

What a beautiful evening we had... and an excellent turn-out! 62 people came out to ride the ski trail-heavy course last night. General consensus: it was a blast!

Here are the POINTS after Kincaid #3. I will post the points update (will include Kincaid #4) as soon as it's done. If you see a problem with your points, please email me: megpiersma@gmail.com.

***If you've been racing in two different categories (for instance, one race you did beginner, then you upgraded to sport for the next race), you will see your name in each category on the points sheet. We are not yet sure how to reconcile this... it might just be that you earned points in both categories... we'll figure it out soon and update the points... I'll let you know what we decide.***

Next race:
Beach Lake XC, THIS Saturday, July 30. More details will be posted to the blog soon!

Thanks to everyone that braved the weather tonight.
We really got lucky... just a bit of spit to start out, then it was perfect!

And a huge thanks to those of you who picked up flags afterwards.
Please mention it to me at registration for the next race.

Bartlett Short Track

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

This is a brand new venue and it's going to be great! We have a super fun, fast short track course planned out, so come on out Tuesday night!

Registration will be 6:00-6:45pm.
Pre-race meeting sometime between 6:45 and 7:00pm
Race will start at 7pm

$15 for adults, under 18 are free as always
Helmets are (always) required
You must be an ABC member to race... join online HERE.

All racers will do 25 minutes around the "short track" plus one lap. We'll sound the bell when you are about to do your last lap. Your goal is to do as many laps as possible in that time frame.

Our plan is to send everyone out at the same time, unless we get hordes and hordes of racers, then you'll be split into groups and one group will go at a time while the other group watches (this is a GREAT race for spectators because the racers will be whipping through the start/finish area every couple of minutes).

Parking will be at the far east end of the parking lot that is on the east side of Bartlett High School. From Anchorage, get on Muldoon and take Muldoon north over the Glenn Highway. Turn right when you see the Bartlett High School sign. You'll continue along the short little road IN FRONT of the high school to the east side parking lot. You can't really get lost back in there... just head towards the mountains when you get onto the school road.

We don't have a map for you guys because it will literally take you a matter of minutes to pre-ride the course once you get registered.

Come on out and experience the thrills of a short track race!!!
